Reactive Silazane Modifiers

Reactive silazane modifiers are heat-curing Si-N polymers whose Si-H and Si-vinyl groups give formulators real crosslinking chemistry: addition sites for hybrid resin systems, hydrosilylation partners for hydroxyl-functional binders, and structure control in silicone rubber compounds. This is the line for engineers who buy chemistry, not finished coatings.

Four grades cover the practical matrix: SILZ-350 (Si-H + vinyl, high MW), SILZ-351 (vinyl, low viscosity), SILZ-701 (Si-H, low-to-mid MW) and SILZ-702 (Si-H, high MW). The vinyl/Si-H pair — 351 with 701 — crosslinks on heating into a coherent network, while the high-MW grades form 350 °C-service films on their own.

How to Choose

Reactive group first

Need hydrosilylation? Si-H grades (701, 702, 350). Need addition sites or a crosslinking partner? Vinyl grades (351, 350). The 351 + 701 pair is the standard two-component combination when you want the network to build during cure.

Molecular weight second

Low-to-mid MW (351: 255–591; 701: 177–581) for synthesis, dosing and impregnation; high MW (350, 702: >8×10⁴) for film integrity and mechanical strength.

Film duty or modifier duty

As coatings, 350 and 702 cure at 180–250 °C into ≥6H films serving 350 °C continuously. As modifiers, all four supply reactive Si-N chemistry — choose by the reaction you plan to run.

Cure window and line fit

All grades heat-cure; 351/701 films surface-dry in as little as 6 minutes at 200–250 °C. Match the cure schedule to your oven capability before locking a grade.

Reactive Silazane Modifiers — FAQ

Which grades do I combine for a heat-curable two-component system?

Blend SILZ-701 (Si-H) with SILZ-351 (vinyl): hydrosilylation crosslinks the pair on heating into a coherent network. We provide starting ratios and thermal profiles with samples.

Can these products cure at room temperature like the SILZ-150 series?

No — this line is heat-curing by design (roughly 165–250 °C depending on grade), which is what gives formulators a stable working window of up to 24 hours. For ambient-cure resins, see our Organopolysilazane Resins line.

Do you support formulation development?

Yes. Catalysis starting points, compounding ratios and cure schedules are part of supply — send your target application and our lab replies with concrete parameters.

Not sure which grade fits your process?
