Organopolysilazane Resins

Organopolysilazane resins are solvent-free, room-temperature curing binders built on a Si-N backbone. Unlike silicone (Si-O) resins, they cure through moisture-triggered Si-NH-Si reactions and bond covalently to substrate hydroxyls, forming thin glass-like films with 6H–7H hardness, electrical insulation and weather resistance — the base chemistry for high-performance protective coatings.

The SILZ-150 series covers the practical range a formulator needs: SILZ-150 for slow cure and a long working window, SILZ-150K for rapid cure and fast production takt, and SILZ-150U as the formulation-grade variant. All three share the same core chemistry, so systems developed on one grade transfer predictably to another.

How to Choose

Cure speed vs. working window

SILZ-150 (slow cure) gives roughly a 4-hour working window for larger parts and manual application; SILZ-150K (rapid cure) suits automated lines where takt time matters more than open time.

Application role

For a neat clear-coat, choose by hardness and cure profile. For resin modification or curing-agent use, SILZ-150U — the formulation grade — is the usual starting point.

SILZ-150 and SILZ-150K carry a public CAS registry number (shown on their product pages) with TDS, SDS and batch COA available; confirm registration coverage for your market with our team.

Temperature demand

The series serves continuously to about 350 °C with short excursions to 500 °C. If your duty cycle runs hotter, step up to our high-temperature ceramic coatings instead.

How do I choose between SILZ-150, SILZ-150K and SILZ-150U?

Choose by process: SILZ-150 for slow cure and a long application window, SILZ-150K for rapid cure on fast production lines, SILZ-150U when the resin is a formulation ingredient rather than a finished coating. Send us your application method and takt time and we will confirm the grade.

Are these resins really cured at room temperature — no oven at all?

Yes. Curing is driven by ambient moisture reacting with the Si-NH-Si backbone: surface-dry in about 30 minutes and full cure in under a day at room temperature. Heat is optional to accelerate, never required.

Can I evaluate with a small sample first?

Yes — small pails from 1 kg and evaluation samples are available with TDS and SDS, and a COA accompanies every shipment. Tell us your substrate and target film so we can recommend starting parameters along with the sample.
